Let’s get practical in our wild, outdoor kitchen & have fun together in a relaxed atmosphere………..An exciting opportunity to cook a wide variety of dishes using our tried and tested recipes that work well over the open fire. Using the flame as your cooking friend, the right size fire for the job, making and using equipment for when cooking over a fire & being creative with a wide range of fabulous, quality food.This will include the grill, the cooking tray/lid, on the embers in the fire itself and in dutch ovens. This is a very ‘hands-on’ experience and is suitable for complete beginners and those with more experience. Get the whole family involved.

If you work with children or adults in any outdoor setting or if you just want to create a feast on your home fire pit then this creative cooking course is for you. A course creating confidence in outdoor feasting. Bring the kids too explore their cooking skills too…..8’s & over welcome!

• Use and care of cast iron pots, including the Dutch oven
• Essential, but simple, natural items that are useful when cooking over a fire
• creating a vegetable hot pot in the Dutch oven
• Willow basket for grilling fish
• Creating brunch in an edible pot
• Making flat bread/ash bread
• Gutting and ponassing fish.
• Chicken/Tofu & Vegetable Kebabs
• Char-grilled vegetables…….eg leeks, asparagus, peppers
• Garlic mushrooms
• Exploring the use of a pizza oven
• Calzone pizza over a regular fire
• Chocolate cake/brownie in the Dutch oven
• Popcorn in a sieve
• Sweet treats…..creating a selection of sweet treat for all occasions from chocolate bananas to chocolate cake in an orange skin
• Marshmallows

Food & drinks for the day provided…..if you cook them well enough!!
