What will I get from this course? … This is a two day all inclusive forest skills & outdoor learning leadership course. This course offers a more cost effective way of gaining the basic skills to manage outdoor learning for a variety of groups in your environment from educational establishments to youth groups.

What is included? … Part of this training will equip you with knowledge to use fire in your space. When completing the fire safety aspect of the course there will be an expectation that you will provide some evidence of safe practice and there will be one follow up assessment that will require you to be videoed with six children demonstrating good practice.

How will it help me? …. It is designed to equip people with the skills to deliver outdoor fun and education developmental opportunities to a good standard. To give a good overall understanding of the principles of forest school and to recognise the psychological benefits of learning and exploring outdoors.

We will explore the way the outdoors can be used to fulfil curriculum requirements as well as the importance of the outdoors for exploration and well-being for all. Recognised certificate given at the end of the course.

Can I have a fire after this course? … Yes you can, we will explore fire safety and working with our young people to create fire, we will look at fire for cooking and how we can make better use of the fire over and above doing marshmallows. Cooking on an open fire will form part of our journey.
