Fire Safety Training for Forest Skills
Who is this for? …….. A comprehensive 2.5 hour course that gives participants the skills to set up safe fire areas in their Forest Adventure areas, this can be used by first timers or by those needing their three yearly refresher.
What will this give us?…….. We will discuss types of fires for what purpose, investigate the best ways to start a fire for cooking purposes in Forest Adventure session. We will explore the best types of wood to use, how to use an axe for kindling. Part of our session will be dedicated to how to safely teach and use fire with children. We will learn how to write up our risk assessment, exploring benefits versus risk. We will explore some simple cooking ideas.
Do we need to bring anything? …… You don’t need to bring anything with you, just come dressed appropriately. A pack of resources will be provided for all tasks.
We will use a ‘Kelly Kettle’ as part of our training.

Self-funded practitioner — £110
For an individual paying personally for their own place.
School/employer funded — £132
For a place funded by a school, academy, employer or other organisation, whether payment is made online or by invoice.
The self-funded price is a discounted rate intended to keep the training accessible to individuals paying personally. Bookings funded by a school, employer or other organisation are charged at the full organisation rate.
